Georgia Waterfront Property
There are several tidal rivers that flow into multiple tributaries in McIntosh County Georgia as well as Liberty County Georgia. A major tidal river in McIntosh is South Newport River which enters the upland at the southern most part of the Saint Catherine’s Island and through the Sapelo Sound. The River pushes inland by tidal activity for miles creating hundreds of small tidal creeks and ditches. South Newport River is the boundary between southern Liberty and Northern McIntosh Counties.
Harris Neck Road runs east to west along the South Newport River in North McIntosh County and provides transportation to many small and large subdivision formed on the South Newport River, Harris Neck Creek and Julienton River. Among these subdivisions is the Historic Belvedere Island Plantation, a gated community, built on the River. Belvedere Island Plantation offers many waterfront amenities.
The mighty Sapelo River which enters the inland from the Atlantic Ocean and pushes inland to form hundreds of tidal rivers and creeks at high tides. The Sapelo River makes up a portion of the intercostal waterway. Many community are formed along the tidal waters of the Sapelo include Sutherland Bluff Plantation a gated community that is the home of Sapelo Hammock Golf Course. Pine Harbor, Shell Point, Fair Hope, and Bellview, which is the home of the infamous Pelican Point and Buccaneer Restaurants. These communities are older and offer a laid back fishing town community atmosphere.
